Opening Balance
A clinic that moves to CluvixHealth mid-year does not start from zero: there is money in the drawer, customers (patients) owing, suppliers waiting to be paid. This screen captures those figures once, so every later report is measured from a real starting point.

| Function | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1. The Draft tag | The balance sheet is still a draft: edit freely, the ledger is untouched. |
| 2. Add line | Adds an account and its balance. |
| 3. Activate ledger | Locks these figures in as the ledger's starting point. |
The table holds Account, Side (debit or credit), Debit, Credit, and a Total row that adds up both columns so you can check they agree before activating.
How to fill it
- Fix the date you start using the software and take balances as at that moment.
- Add line for every account with a balance: cash, bank, customer (patient) receivables, supplier payables, equity…
- Check the Total row — total debit must equal total credit.
- Click Activate ledger. From then on, every transaction builds on these figures.
Activate the opening balance before you post daily transactions and the trial balance and financial statements agree from the very first period.
If the clinic keeps its books in MISA, there is no typing to do: MISA Conversion loads account balances and per-customer (patient), per-supplier receivables straight in.
