Leave Balance
The question that comes up every time somebody asks for a day off: "how much leave do they have left?". This screen answers it for the whole clinic, year by year.

| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1. Recalculate balance | Recomputes every balance from the latest data. |
| 2. Search employee | Jump to one person. |
| 3. Year picker | Balances are held per year. |
Reading the columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Leave type | Each type has its own pot of days. |
| Entitled | Days granted for the year. |
| Carried over | Unused days brought from last year. |
| Adjust | Manual plus or minus for special cases. |
| Used | Days taken through approved requests. |
| Remaining | The figure that matters: entitled + carried over + adjust − used. |
When to recalculate
After anything that changes the entitlement: the leave policy changes, somebody joins mid-year, or you have just processed a batch of older requests. One click recomputes everything from the current data.
Check balances before year end
In November, sort by Remaining: anyone with a lot left should be nudged to take it, rather than everybody booking the last week of the year while the clinic is busy.
